What If, Can Be is a fictional work in progress about the coming alive of a “tribe” inspired by the coastal Oregon community I have been active in for thirty-five years.
Just as I answered a strong call to begin writing my visions in early 2009, I responded in 2010 to an equally strong call to share it in process rather than wait for a completed, perfected novel. I felt an urgency to get this material out, rough as it is.
However, there has been a hiatus of exactly a year from the death of my mother on September 4, 2010 followed by a series of other family deaths and serious illnesses. My creative life pretty much shut down.
My intention now, on September 12, 2011, is that both the postings and the writing itself will resume.
It continues to be very much a crazy quilt.
Like Charles Dickens and Louisa May Alcott in the 1800’s, I am publishing the material serially. However, unlike the media of their era, the magic of the Web allows me to give you several ways to dance around among the chunks included here:
- Read the newest material and then work backwards from there….
- Follow the Table of Contents, which is chronological from Fall to Spring Equinox. You will find, however, that not everything listed there has been written yet. And some of it might change….
- Follow a character or series of events via the Category links listed in the right-hand side bar….
- Subscribe and be notified of new material as I put it up, helter skelter as it is readied….
- Wander around as Spirit leads you.
I trust that what you read and the order in which you read it is exactly what you need to hear. And, of course, I’d love your comments about how that plays out.

you’re on such a roll now, it’s hard to keep up. Great job. i’m really enjoying the progression and the “Thin Veil” chapter is a great reminder of the greater plan up ahead. Keep on writing. I’ll pass it around.
Love ya!
